Kate Pinsent
Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate

Kate (she/her) is a Registered Counselling Therapist – Candidate (RCT-C) providing support to individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, stress, identity shifts, work-life balance challenges, and career transitions. Her approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion, collaboration, and emotional safety.

Kate has served in the Canadian Armed Forces for over 17 years and brings extensive experience supporting individuals impacted by military sexual trauma, organizational betrayal, and workplace culture harm. Her work is informed by both professional and lived experience as a service member, spouse, and parent in a military family. She is committed to creating a supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they work toward healing and meaningful change.

Kate draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT-based approaches, and other evidence-based trauma therapies, tailoring each session to the needs and pace of the individual. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Royal Military College of Canada, a Master of Arts in Integrated Studies from Athabasca University, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Kate provides virtual evening counselling services to clients across Nova Scotia.
